That reminds me of one of my first engineering classes in college. The professor said “we teach windows not because it is the best out there. In fact, it is the worst. We teach windows because it is the most popular.” Mind you, this was back in 2000. This same philosophy still applies — I mention WordPress because over 17M websites are built with it which is 24.9% of the internet as of this month (using BuiltWith data).
But the same applies with iOS, Android, and any library or framework that I know of — a few updates and the tech is on its ass.
That’s why I’m a proponent of Kubernetes. Even then, there are still some very interesting things that can and do happen.
Adam, I’m by no means a complete expert. But I can say from a business standpoint, it sometimes makes the best business sense to use what tech is at hand at the moment to get things functional. Then when it makes money, hire experts like you to fix it…
